Aman entered the Olympics with hopes of winning gold, but his bronze medal is still a significant achievement. "I'm very happy and want to dedicate this medal to the country," Aman said. "Though I aimed for gold and was defeated in the semifinals, winning a medal on my Olympic debut is still special."
Aman, who had raised hopes of securing a place in the final following two big victories against celebrated opponents in the earlier rounds, was no match for the 28-year-old Higuchi -- the 2016 Rio Olympics silver medallist.
This was Aman's second successive win via technical superiority. Earlier, he defeated European Championships gold medallist Vladimir Egorov of North Macedonia to make it to the last-eight stage
Sehrawat, the U23 world champion, secured India's sixth wrestling quota for the Paris 2024 Olympics by defeating Chongsong Han of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea 12-2 in the semi-final.
