Bathukamma celebrated with pomp in Dubai
Various organisations in Dubai are competing to celebrate the event on Saturday and Sunday, with one such event being organised by the Gulf Telangana Cultural and Welfare Association (GWCA).
Jeddah: Bathukamma, the popular floral festival of Telangana, is being celebrated by Telangana expatriates living in Arabian Gulf countries.
A celebratory mood is prevailing among the Telangana expatriate community across the region as Bathukamma festivities are being organized on a grand scale.
The United Arab Emirates is the foremost among the Gulf region in conducting Bathukamma festivities. Various organisations in Dubai are competing to celebrate the event on Saturday and Sunday, with one such event being organised by the Gulf Telangana Cultural and Welfare Association (GWCA).
GWCA team comprised by Juvvadi Srinivas Rao, Salahuddin, Samuel and Bharati Reddy among others oversaw the arrangements where a large number of women with traditional attire turned up. The troops of traditional ‘dappu’ artists which is known for a variety of rhythmic drum beats mesmerized the audience. IPF Telangana chapter also celebrated the festival.
Emirates Telangana Cultural and Welfare Association (ETCA) also celebrated the festival on Sunday. Other groups and event management companies also celebrated the event.
