The High Court on Tuesday struck down the explanation clause (b) in Rule VIII (ii) of the Telangana Medical Colleges (Admission into Post Graduate Medical Courses) Rules, 2021, as well as the corresponding clause in the AYUSH course admission rules for 2024-25. The rule governs 'local status' for candidates seeking admissions into postgraduate (PG) medical courses.
Candidates are admitted under KNRUHS for MBBS/BDS course under Competent Authority Quota and Management Quota are not permitted to exercise web options.

The qualifying criteria for candidates who are in the general category is 40 percentile with a cutoff score of 113 while for SC/ST and OBC students, the qualifying criteria is 30 percentile with a cutoff score of 87.
