BJP hits out at Telangana govt for failing to procure paddy
He pointed out that farmers have been unable to sell their paddy at procurement centers, despite bringing their produce there two months ago. He also questioned the state government's failure to manage the procurement process, especially when the union government fully funds paddy procurement and provides a minimum support price (MSP) of Rs. 2,320 per quintal.

Hyderabad: BJP Rajya Sabha member K Laxman criticised the State government over sluggish procurement of paddy from farmers during the current Kharif season.
Addressing a press conference here on Monday, Laxman alleged due to the failure of the State government to procure paddy farmers were incurring losses. He stated that farmers were still unable to sell their paddy at procurement centres even after bringing the produce to the centres two months ago and questioned the State government’s inability to manage procurement operations when the union government fully funds paddy procurement by offering the minimum support price (MSP) of Rs. 2,320 per quintal.
Coming down heavily on Congress government for its failure to provide bonus to paddy farmers, the senior BJP leader alleged the government failed to provide Rs. 500 per quintal of rice to farmers, in line with the assurance given by the Congress in the run-up to the elections. “CM promised to provide Rs. 500 bonus to all the varieties of rice, but after coming to power he changed his stand. This is nothing but deceiving the farmers,”he said.
