The farmers found fault with the state government for deceiving them by denying the promises made to them during the time of elections
Karimnagar: BRS activists on Sunday staged protest demonstrations across the erstwhile Karimnagar district against the State government’s decision to not implement Rythu Bharosa for the current Kharif season.
Based on BRS working president KT Rama Rao’s call for the statewide protests, party workers joined farmers and staged rasta rokos and dharnas in all mandal headquarters. Effigies of the state government as well as Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy were burnt.
The farmers found fault with the state government for deceiving them by denying the promises made to them during the time of elections. Before elections, Congress party had promised to waive all crop loans up to Rs 2 lakh.
However, it changed its voice after coming to power and put conditions to waive loans leaving the farming community in trouble. Subsequently, loans of a number of farmers were pending, they said.
Similarly, the government had now changed its voice on Rythu Bharosa by announcing that it would given only from next Rabi season.
