Class 10 girl ends life jumping before speeding train in Khammam

Khammam: A Class 10 girl ended her life in a fit of rage, allegedly jumping a before speeding train in Khammam city on Monday.
According to police, Mannuru Lakshmi Nakshatra (14) was studying in a private school in the city. Her father M Naveen, who works as a medical representative and belongs to Thorrur village of Mahabubabad district, was living at Mamillagudem area in the city.
The student was said to be ill for the past few days. On Monday morning, she went out to buy some pens as she was appearing term examinations and returned home late as she had to take a detour to reach home as she was confronted by a pack of street dogs on her regular route. Her parents admonished for being late and in a fit of rage, she went out saying she would be gone for good. Her parents, who at first took her words lightly, panicked later as she never spoke to them in such a manner.
Naveen and his wife Anuradha started searching for their daughter, first at their relative’s houses nearby, later at the railway station and surrounding areas. By that time the girl jumped before a train going to Vijayawada from Warangal and died.
The parents, searching for their daughter, noticed a group of people gathered at Mondigate area on the railway track near Khammam railway and rushed to the spot and found their daughter dead on the track.
GRP SI Bhaskar Rao booked a case in connection with the incident based on the complaint of the girl’s relatives and launched a probe into it. A pall of gloom descended on Mamillagudem area as the residents grieved at the death of the student, who was said to be a class topper and a state level basketball player.
