Hyderabad: Even as Opposition parties demanded the government to cancel the Outer Ring Road toll contract, Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy announced that a Special Investigation Team (SIT) would be constituted to probe into the alleged irregularities.
The Chief Minister made this announcement during the short discussion on “Outstanding Liabilities of the State” in the Assembly on Thursday.
As former Finance Minister T Harish Rao was laying threadbare the Congress government’s false claims on loans raised by the BRS government and cornering the ruling party, the Chief Minister intervened and made the announcement.
“As per the request of opposition parties, a SIT will be constituted to probe into the irregularities in the ORR toll contract,” Revanth Reddy said.
In reply, Harish Rao insisted that the State government first cancel the ORR tenders and then order a probe.
