Hyderabad: Raising concerns over Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs), Bhongir MP from Congress C Kiran Kumar Reddy demanded that the Election Commission should rethink the use of EVMs.
Accusing the BJP of coming to power by any crooked means, the MP further said the Congress was suspicious of election processes.
“Whether it is in Haryana or in Maharashtra, BJP has a habit of coming to power by any means. In Haryana, the results were not what we had expected and even in Maharashtra. Our leaders are suspicious of election processes,” C Kiran Kumar Reddy in an interview to a news agency.
The Congress MP also said it was difficult to understand what our democracy was doing with EVMs.
“If any political party does not trust EVMs, we should discuss and find an alternative way to increase the trust. Election Commission should think about it again, either we should adopt this technology or follow other countries, which have changed their path from EVMs to normal ballot papers” Kiran Kumar Reddy said in the interview.
