Congress’s one-year celebrations should be called ‘Vanchana Utsavam’, not ‘Praja Vijayotsavam’: BJP MLA
BJP Legislative Party leader A Maheshwar Reddy said since the Congress failed to fulfil promises made to the people of the State, the celebrations should be termed as "Vanchana Utsavam" and not "Praja Vijayotsavam".
Hyderabad: Criticising the Congress government for organising celebrations to mark one year in power, BJP Legislative Party leader A Maheshwar Reddy said since the Congress failed to fulfil promises made to the people of the State, the celebrations should be termed as “Vanchana Utsavam” and not “Praja Vijayotsavam”.
Addressing a press conference here on Wednesday, Maheshwar Reddy said Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy, who had failed to fulfil promises made during the assembly polls, should explain to the people of the State, the reason for organising celebrations on such a large scale. “Are you celebrating one year in power for cheating the people of the State or demolition of houses of the poor through HYDRAA? In the last eleven months the Congress has destroyed the State in all the sectors,”he said.
The Chief Minister had nothing to speak about his government’s achievement in the last one year, hence, he was targeting opposition party leaders during the celebrations, he alleged.
Taking strong exception to Revanth Reddy targeting Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the BJP MLA said that the Chief Minister had no right to criticise the Prime Minister.
“Revanth Reddy called Sonia Gandhi a ‘Bali Devta’ in the past. Now to save his post he was praising Sonia Gandhi. Whatever you want to do to save your seat do it, but if you target PM or BJP leaders we will not keep quiet and give you a fitting reply,”he warned.
