Nirmal: Police saved the life of a daily wage earner by swiftly responding to a call received from his family members at Hisnepalli Thanda in Thanoor mandal on Tuesday.
According to Thanoor Sub-Inspector Ramesh, the police prevented Pawar Vikas from ending his life by rushing to a spot where he was about to resort to extreme step by hanging from a tree on the outskirts of the village.
He stated that they responded immediately after receiving a call from Vikas’ wife. Vikas wanted to kill himself, following a tiff with his wife.
He remarked that Vikas would have ended life had police delayed reaching the spot by a few minutes, rendering his children orphans. The police counselled Vikas and his family members before handing him over to them.
They advised the public not to resort to drastic steps over trivial issues. Meanwhile, Superintendent of Police Dr Janaki Sharmila commended Ramesh, constables Wachu, Ramesh and Sainath for saving the life of the daily-wage laborer by quickly reaching the spot.
