Hyderabad: Expressing serious displeasure over the behaviour of the Kodangal police, Mahabubnagar BJP MP DK Aruna said that she would lodge a complaint with the Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla against the local police and district administration for preventing her from going to Lagacherla.
The BJP MP was stopped from visiting Lagacherla village of Dudyala mandal of the Vikarabad district on Wednesday, where officials were attacked by villagers during a public hearing for a proposed pharma village in Vikarabad district.
Speaking to the media on Thursday, Aruna said by stopping her from meeting people of Lagacharla was a violation of her rights, hence, she had decided to lodge a complaint with the Lok Sabha Speaker against the police action. “I am the local MP and I have every right to visit people of my constituency,”she said.
On Wednesday, Aruna along with her supporters were visiting Lagacharla village, but the police stopped them at Manneguda and asked her to go back to her residence citing law and order issues. However, after the intervention of the district collector, she was allowed to meet him and discuss the pharma village issue.
