Ministers Bhatti Vikramarka, Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy and Tummala Nageswara Rao cast their votes in their respective polling stations in Khammam district on Monday.
With a mere 39.17 per cent, minimal polling was recorded in the Hyderabad parliamentary constituency while Secunderabad and Malkajgiri fared slightly better with 42.48 and 46.27 per cent.
However, urban areas especially Hyderabad, Secunderabad and Malakajgiri parliamentary constituencies witnessed a lukewarm response from voters recording a poor poll percentage.
As many as 481 senior citizens and Persons with Disabilities (PwDs) also voted through the home voting facility. Moreover, seven persons engaged in essential services also cast their ballots.
With even 2,000 to 5000 votes to each of these candidates could change the outcome of the election, mainstream political party candidates are holding discussions with them by deputing their men.
District Election Officer and Collector Rajiv Gandhi Hanumanthu said training enables polling officials to understand the election system, learn handling and operation of EVMs to ensure an error-free election process.
