Four of a family attempt suicide in Mancherial, condition critical
Police, who conducted preliminary enquiries into the incident said that the family tried to kill themselves by consuming a toxic weedicide as they were depressed over a financial crisis caused due to losses in online games played by a family member
Mancherial: Four members of a family allegedly attempted to die by suicide by consuming a weedicide due to a financial crisis at Kasipet village in Thandur mandal on Tuesday. Their condition was stated to be critical.
Police, who conducted preliminary enquiries into the incident said Samudrala Mondaiah, his wife Sridevi, daughter Chitti and son Shiva Prasad tried to kill themselves by consuming a toxic weedicide as they were depressed over a financial crisis caused due to losses in online games played by a family member.
The exact reason behind the attempt would be known only after further investigation, police said. No relative was available to disclose the reason for their extreme step.
The four were initially shifted to a government hospital in Mancherial town and then to Mahatma Gandhi Memorial Hospital in Warangal when their medical condition deteriorated.
