Hyderabad: Exposing the Congress government’s claims that government assets were not being sold, former Minister T Harish Rao said the government had sold nearly 400 acres in Gachibowli, which were worth about Rs.30,000 crore.
Showcasing the copy of GO Ms 54 issued on June 26 this year, he said the Congress government had alienated government land to an extent of 400 acres in survey no 25 situated at Gachibowli village, Serilingampally in favour of Telangana Industrial Infrastructure Corporation for the purpose of development of IT and mixed use. This was done on payment of market value of Rs.75 crore per acre, he explained.
By mortgaging these lands, the TGIIC was approaching banks to raise Rs.20,000 crore loans since three months. This completely exposes Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka’s claims that government land was not sold, he stressed.
However, Revenue Minister Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy intervened and said it was a baseless allegation. It was just transfer of land from the revenue sector to TGIIC. The cost mentioned was only to realize the value in future from TGIIC to the revenue department, he said, alleging that the former Minister’s statement was far from the truth.
