Hyderabad: The US Consulate General in Hyderabad, in association with the Goethe-Zentrum Hyderabad, will present the Hyderabad International Jazz Festival 2024 at Hyderabad Public School here on Saturday.
The festival will include bands from the United States, India, Europe, and around the world. The festival is free, with open seating and no tickets are required, a press release said on Thursday.
The US Consulate General Hyderabad is sponsoring The Native Jazz Quartet. The Quartet stands out as an example of the diversity, inclusion, and multiculturalism that American society embodies, it said.
Band members come from different cultures: drummer Ed Littlefield is an Alaskan Native from the Lingit tribe; pianist Reuel Lubag is Filipino-American; Jazz Trumpet artist Delbert Anderson, of Navajo descent; and Bassist Michael Glynn from Seattle, Washington.
The festival will also feature performances including Malstrom from Germany and Switzerland, Cacha Mundinho, an eclectic band led by Dutch artist Sjahin During, along with one Portuguese and two Indian musicians; and the George Hull Collective from Hyderabad.
“This is the sixth time we have cosponsored the biannual Hyderabad International Jazz Festival, an event we look forward to all year round going back to 2015,” said Jennifer Larson, Consul General of the US Consulate General in Hyderabad.
“Jazz is such a unique American art form that has fans across the world. It’s wonderful to have the opportunity to enjoy these incredible, unique musical performances here in Hyderabad with all our friends,” she added.
