Hyderabad: Karkhana police nab burglar involved in over 100 cases
The suspect – Mohd Avez Ahmed alias Ahmed (42), was earlier detained in the prison twice by the Medipally and Kukatpally police under the PD Act, but he continued to commit offences after being released from the prison.
Hyderabad: The Karkhana police nabbed a burglar involved in 107 cases across Hyderabad, Cyberabad and Rachakonda police commissionerates on Friday. Officials seized 123 grams gold, 202 grams silver ornaments and cash of Rs 5,000, altogether worth Rs 10 lakh.
The suspect – Mohd Avez Ahmed alias Ahmed (42) from Chandrayangutta, does a recce of plush residential colonies during the day and identified locked houses. He would return during the night to break into them and decamp with valuables. He used hand tools to damage the locks and gain entry.
According to the police, Ahmed was earlier detained in the prison twice by the Medipally and Kukatpally police under the PD Act, but he continued to commit offences after being released from the prison.
He was recently involved in a burglary and caught with the help of CCTV footage, technical evidence and human intelligence, police officials said.
