Hyderabad: NALSAR appoints Dr TVSN Prasad, Dr Sitharamam as Sr Professors
Vice-Chancellor Prof Srikrishna Deva Rao says the appointments add great value to the academic world of the NALSAR

Hyderabad: The NALSAR University of Law, which is gearing up for the semester starting January 2025, appointed two eminent individuals as senior professors.
Former Chief Secretary and Finance Secretary of Haryana Dr TVSN Prasad and former faculty of Azim Premji University and National Law School of India University, Bengaluru, Prof Sitharamam Kakarla, were appointed by the university for teaching and research in economics and public policy, and law and human rights
NALSAR University of Law Vice Chancellor Prof Srikrishna Deva Rao said the two appointments add great value to the academic world of the NALSAR, especially in the areas of teaching and research in the areas of law, human rights and public policy in the coming years.
Dr Prasad has over 37 years of experience at the World Bank, government, public and private sectors. He joined as the Distinguished Professor of Economics and Public Policy. He has a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, a Master’s degree from Harvard University and a Doctorate in Economics from Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi.
He served as Lead Infrastructure Coordinator and Senior Economist at the World Bank in Washington DC for several years, crafting its policies in Africa on power, oil and gas sectors, national economic policies, investments, and infrastructure expansion.
Prof Sitharamam Kakarla received his PhD in Political Science from the Centre for Social Studies, Surat, LLM in Human Rights Law from the University of Nottingham and MA in Political Philosophy from the University of Madras.
He was the recipient of the British Chevening Fellowship in Human Rights Law (1995-96), and the Commonwealth Postdoctoral Fellowship in Human Rights Law (2000-01) from Warwick Law School.
