Hyderabad: Yashoda Hospitals, Hitech City on Sunday launched a dedicated ‘Chronic Kidney Disease’ clinic that will focus on CKD management and prevent patients from developing chronic kidney ailments.
The clinic, which was inaugurated by Jagadguru Sri Shivarathri Deshikendra Mahaswami along with Yashoda Hospitals Group, Chairman, Gorukanti Ravinder Rao, will provide protocolized care, consultation with senior nephrologists, dietician advice on CKD management using state-of-the-art equipment and medications, a press release said.
Speaking on the occasion, G Ravinder Rao, said, “Every year more than 5 lakh new kidney patients are admitted to dialysis in India, out of which only 20,000 patients receive kidney transplant while the rest depend on dialysis and waiting for kidney transplant’.
“People at risk of CKD include diabetic mellitus, hypertension, kidney stones, patients on long-term medication like painkillers, antibiotics, obese people, and patients with a family history of CKD,” said Senior Nephrologist and Kidney Transplant Specialist, Yashoda Hospitals-Hitec City, Dr. Rajasekhara Chakravarthy.
Justice R Devadas, Judge of Karnataka High Court and former Member of Parliament, Renuka Chowdhury and other senior doctors were present.
