BRS district president Jogu Ramanna addresses pressmen in Bela mandal centre on Monday
Adilabad: BRS district president Jogu Ramanna said that both the Centre and State government were adopting anti-farmer policies and were causing injustice to the agrarian community. He addressed pressmen in Bela mandal centre on Monday.
Ramanna alleged that the government colluded with the private traders and was procuring the cotton produce. It was cheating the farmers by offering a nominal minimum support price (MSP) to the cotton. He opined that it was unfair for the government to throw the lives of the farmers in the darkness at the time of Diwali festival.
The former minister said that both State and Centre failed to provide remunerative prices to the cotton farmers. He regretted that Adilabad was the largest producer of the cotton, but lagged behind many states in getting reasonable support price. He demanded better MSP to farmers of the district than that offered in Gujarat.
BRS leaders Manohar, Satish, Pawar, Gambhir, Takare, Pramod, Tanwar, Tejo Rao, Devanna, Mangesh and Manjor were present.
