Khammam: 25-bed Covid ward comes up at Penuballi CHC

Khammam: A 25-bed Covid ward equipped with mobile x-ray machine and oxygen cylinders has come up at Community Health Centre (CHC), Penuballi in the district. Transport Minister Puvvada Ajay Kumar along with Sathupalli MLA S Venkata Veeraiah and District Collector RV Karnan inaugurated the facility on Monday.
All public health facilities at mandal level were being equipped with required equipment and medicines to ensure quality Covid care, the minister said while suggesting to appoint the vacant posts on outsourcing basis at the CHC and to provide it with an ambulance.
Earlier, Ajay Kumar chaired the district level high-power committee meeting in Khammam and reviewed the Covid situation, availability of oxygen, beds, medicines, and Remdesivir injections in private hospitals in the district.
He wanted the high-power committee to work effectively in the wake of spike in Covid positive cases. Every Primary Health Centre should conduct 100 Covid diagnosis tests and door to door fever survey has to continue until further orders.
