Khammam: Tourism Development Corporation managing director Prakash Reddy said steps were being taken to develop Khammam Fort as a tourist attraction.

He along with district Collector Muzammil Khan and Municipal Commissioner Abhishek Agastya visited the fort on Saturday. With the proposed ropeway to the fort and development of Jafar step well, the fort would attract tourists in large numbers, he said.

Prakash Reddy inspected the ropeway site, Jafar well and the area suitable for the construction of a ropeway. Discussions took place on the availability of equipment, road connectivity to reach Khammam Fort, parking place and toilets.

The Collector said that instead of going from the top of the houses, it was being planned to install the ropeway from an open place.
