Hyderabad: BRS working president KT Rama Rao hailed the Kaleshwaram Lift Irrigation Scheme (KLIS) as a pillar of strength for Telangana’s farmers, crediting it with solving decades-old irrigation challenges. He underlined the resilience of the project, which had not only withstood severe floods but also “muddy politics,” ensuring relief for farmers across the State.
“Salutations to the Kaleshwaram project for driving away sorrow from farmers’ lives,” he posted on X, thwarting the allegations of the Congress and the BJP which dubbed the project as a huge failure involving huge corruption.
In a series of posts, Rama Rao also aimed at the Congress government, accusing it of failing to address pressing issues. He criticised Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy‘s promise of free electricity, stating that it had instead resulted in farmers being “free from electricity.” He pointed out that Mothe mandal in Suryapet was without power for 16 days, affecting farmers’ livelihoods. He urged Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka to intervene immediately.
The BRS working president also condemned the government’s neglect of education, noting delays in release of school grants and mid-day meal dues. “The Congress has completely abandoned our children. Schools are left scrambling for basic necessities, and even exams are in jeopardy,” he said, questioning the priorities of the Congress government in Telangana.
