Mancherial: TRSMA demands govt to reopen schools

Mancherial: About 1,500 private teachers staged a dharna in protest of the government’s move to close private schools, in Mancherial on Saturday. They were led by members of Telangana Recognised Schools Managements Association (TRSMA), Mancherial unit.
Speaking on the occasion, TRSMA Mancherial district president Rapolu Vishnuvardhan Rao opined the government’s decision to shut down 10,000 private schools was unfair. As a result, about six lakh teachers across the State were affected. Rao demanded the government to take steps for reopening the schools at the earliest and to release an academic calendar. He also sought a monthly unemployment allowance of Rs 7,000 to the teachers and interest-free loans to the educational institutions and requested a fee of Rs 20,000 to each student hailing from economically weaker sections for overcoming the crisis caused by the pandemic.
