MIM to contest in local body polls in erstwhile Karimnagar
MIM district president Syed Ghulam Ahmed Hussain said based on party president Asaduddin Owaisin’s instructions, the district unit has decided to contest in the local bodies polls.
Karimnagar: The district unit of the All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) has decided to contest in the next local bodies elections including Sarpanch, MPTC, ZPTC and municipal polls in the erstwhile Karimnagar district.
Announcing this to media persons here on Sunday, MIM district president Syed Ghulam Ahmed Hussain said based on party president Asaduddin Owaisi’s instructions, the district unit has decided to contest in the local bodies polls. The party would field the candidates belonging to SC/ST/BC and Minorities and the party high command would take a final call on the alliance. The MIM had decided to contest in 75 corporators and councilors in the municipalities of integrated Karimnagar district. Informing to contest in 25 corporators seats in Karimnagar Municipal Corporation, he expressed confidence to win in at least 20 seats and capture Mayor and Deputy Mayor posts.
Reacting to the allegations made by the union Minister of State for Home, Bandi Sanjay Kumar against the party, he said the BJP leader could not survive without making statements against the MIM. Sanjay Kumar failed to take up any developmental works during his tenure as Karimnagar MP and even now as union minister as well, he said.
