Never relied on my father for financial support, says Manchu Manoj
Actor says allegations made against him to suppress his voice in questioning irregularities in the case of Mohan Babu University
Hyderabad: Telugu actor Manchu Manoj condemned the allegations made by his father Manchu Mohan Babu against him and clarified that they were false, baseless and a deliberate effort to defame him and silence his voice.
In a press statement issued by Manoj, the actor said the claims made against him and his wife Mounika and family members were fabricated and that he had never relied on his father for financial support or sought any properties.
The allegations were made against him to suppress his voice in questioning irregularities in the case of Mohan Babu University.
“It only surfaced after my public support for MBU students and local businesses who are being exploited by Vishnu and his associate Vinay Maheshwari. I have substantial evidence of financial irregularities and exploitation, which I am ready to present to the authorities concerned,” Manoj said in the statement.
He further said he had been residing in the family house (farm house) for over a year now. “Only at the instance of my father and his close friends who urged me to move in because my mother was alone after my elder brother Vishnu shifted to Dubai for reasons best known to him. At that time, my wife was pregnant and the allegations that I moved a few months ago are false,” he said.
Contrary to the allegations, the actor denied asking for any properties from his father and added, “I have never asked for properties or inheritance. I challenge anyone to provide evidence to the contrary.”
He alleged that his project ‘Aham Brahmasmi’ was shelved due to personal bias, while his brother continued to benefit from unwavering family support. On the missing CCTV footage from the farm house, Manoj said the hard drives were taken away by Vishnu’s associates Vijay Reddy and Kiran. Earlier, the father and son duo had filed complaints against each other with the Rachakonda Police.
