Peddapalli: CI stresses importance of cyberfraud awareness among students

Taking it as an advantage, cyber criminals were trapping the people by luring them with new style marriage cards, APK files and digital arrest.
Peddapalli: Cybercrime Inspector Krishnamurthy said that students should have awareness about cybercrime, ragging and drugs and take precautionary measures. Inspector participated in Cybercrime awareness programme held in Government junior college (boys), Godavarikhani on Friday.
Speaking on the occasion, he said that all the details including bank account, PAN card, Aadhar card, pension, public distribution system have been linked to mobile phones. Taking it as an advantage, cyber criminals were trapping the people by luring them with new style marriage cards, APK files and digital arrest.
In the recent past, the cases of cybercrimes have been enhanced by targeting women and children.
Advising the youth not to use the internet beyond limit, CI said that cyber criminals were snatching money from the people by using new techniques. He also advised the youth not to reveal their ATM, PIN number, CVV and bank account details to unknown persons.
People should not respond if they get a call from an unknown person that they won a cash prize in the lottery and deposit some amount with their bank accounts to draw the prize money.
If anybody was duped in the hands of cyber criminals, the people should approach cybercrime police by dialing 1930 or 100, he advised.
