Minister P Ajay Kumar conducting an election rally in Khammam on Thursday.
Khammam: Transport Minister Puvvada Ajay Kumar on Thursday called on the voters in Khammam Municipal Corporation (KMC) to vote for the TRS for continued development of the city.
Voting for the opposition parties’ candidates would be pointless as they would neither be able to get any funds nor could contribute towards the development of their areas. In order to continue ongoing development of the city, the TRS candidates have to be elected, he said.
Ajay Kumar conducted election rallies in 46, 47, 48, 58 and 11 municipal divisions along with the contesting candidates. Addressing the public the minister said he was able to ensure a huge amount of funds from the State government for Khammam development.
The city, which was plagued with several problems in the past, was now witnessing all round progress. In the past the residents in many areas used to get drinking water once in a week, with the TRS government’s Mission Bhagiratha the households were being supplied water daily now.
The roads and drains used to be in pathetic condition while many residential areas lacked street lighting because of the negligence of the previous governments. With the funds provided by the Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao and support extended by MA&UD Minister KT Rama Rao roads were widened with central street lighting and CC drains were built for the convenience of the residents, he explained.
But the opposition parties like BJP and Congress were acting blind and were not able to notice the development that has been taking place under the limits of the KMC. Stating that the voters in Khammam were wise, Ajay Kumar urged them to help the TRS to sweep the elections.
Speaking to media persons, Ajay Kumar stated that the voters in Khammam have already decided to vote for the TRS and expressed hope of winning all the 60 wards for which the TRS and CPI were contesting together.
At a programme at the TRS party office later in the day, Ajay Kumar welcomed as many as 200 workers and leaders of CPI (M) party into TRS. CPI(M) minority wing leaders Shaik Mahabub, and Shaik Hussain were among those who joined the TRS.
