Siddipet: Former Minister T Harish Rao objected to some remarks made by Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy against private school teachers during a meeting with government school teachers in Hyderabad recently.
Addressing private school teachers during a Teachers Day celebrations organised by Telangana Recognised School Managements Association (TRSMA) in Siddipet on Saturday, Harish Rao said private school teachers were doing their bit for the society and education at large. He observed that a man in the Chief Minister’s calibre should not have made comments that hurt the sentiments of private school teachers. Saying that more students were going to private schools than government schools in the State, he said private school teachers were not inferior to government school teachers on any count, except with regard to their salaries. Though the government schools were offering English medium education now, private schools were known for offering English medium education much earlier. The private education system had done what governments could not do over the years, he said.
