School student from Asifabad hospitalised due to food poisoning dies
The parents told the media that the doctors declared that Shailaja (14) breathed her last after battling for life for 25 days.

Kumram Bheem Asifabad: Choudari Shailaja, a Class IX student of Ashram school-Wankidi who was hospitalised due to food poisoning on October 31, died while undergoing treatment at Nizam’s Institute of Medical Sciences (NIMS) in Hyderabad on Monday.
The parents told the media that the doctors declared that Shailaja (14) breathed her last after battling for life for 25 days. They stated that they would bring the body to their native place Dhabha village in Wankidi mandal by Tuesday morning. They added that the funeral of the student would be held on the same day.
Shailaja along with four others was initially admitted to a private hospital of Mancherial when her medical condition deteriorated a few days back. She was then shifted to NIMS recently. She was one of 63 students who fell sick after consuming dinner on October 30. Four students Kudimetha Jyothi, Maha Laxmi, Bhumika and Lavanya were already discharged from hospitals in Mancherial and Kagaznagar.
On November 14, the headmaster of the school, Srinivas was placed under suspension for dereliction of duties leading to hospitalization of the students on October 30 and 31. Action was initiated against the headmaster based on findings of a committee formed to probe into the food position due to which 64 students had vomits and diarrhea.
Five staffers of the school including the headmaster Srinivas were transferred on November 13. While Srinvas was transferred to a school in Kagaznagar, Auxiliary Nurse Midwifery (ANM) Sevantha, cook Harikishan, workers Kamala and Pentaiah were transferred to different schools in the district.
