Mahabubnagar: Tension prevailed for some time after Mahabubnagar MP DK Aruna was stopped from visiting Lagacharla village in Kodangal of Vikarabad, where officials were attacked by villagers during a public hearing for a proposed pharma village in Vikarabad on Monday.
On Wednesday, Aruna along with her supporters were visiting Lagacharla village, but the police stopped them at Manneguda and asked her to go back to her residence citing law and order issues. An angry Aruna shouted at the police personnel and insisted on visiting the village. She told the police personnel that she had an appointment with the collector and that she needed to see him.
“Law and order issue is due to the CM, not me. I am the local MP and I have every right to visit people of my constituency. You should arrest the CM, not me. Tell me what wrong I have done. I have the right to go anywhere in my constituency,”she said.
Accusing Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy for the Lagacharla incident, the BJP MP alleged that due to the failure of the Chief Minister the unfortunate incident took place. “CM is not able to control law and order in his own constituency and is preventing local peoples representatives from visiting Lagacharla. When CM’s brother Tirupati Reddy visits Kodangal constituency there is no law and order problem, but when I am visiting there the police stop me. What kind of justice is this?” she asked.
