Hyderabad: As the Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy led Congress government is organising ‘Praja Palana – Praja Vijayotsavalu’ with theme ‘Yuva Vikasam’ in Peddapalli district on Wednesday, a group of unemployed youth here organised a photo exhibition, exposing “hollow promises” of the government.
Organised on the streets of Ashok Nagar where Congress MP Rahul Gandhi met the unemployed youth during assembly elections, the photo exhibition highlighted how the Congress government “betrayed” the unemployed with its “fake” assurances in its poll campaign.
With a series of photos, the youth criticized the government claims of filling up 55,143 vacancies, stating that these posts were notified by the previous BRS government and that Congress government only handed over appointment letters to selected candidates.
Detailing job vacancies notified in the last one year, the unemployed youth said the State government only issued notifications for 5,213 posts while it had assured to fill up two lakh vacancies in a year during assembly elections. They claimed that there were 2,67,316 vacancies in different government departments.
The exhibition featured Rahul Gandhi’s photos interacting with the unemployed youth in Ashok Nagar during the assembly elections campaign. It also featured youth declaration released by Congress MP Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, with several assurances to the unemployed, including unemployed allowance of Rs.4,000 per month, e-scooter to girls above 18 years and setting up of youth commission for disbursal of Rs.10 lakh interest free loans under self-employment scheme.
“The Congress government has badly betrayed the unemployed youth with its fake promises during the elections. The government claims of filling up 55,00 vacancies are actually notified under the previous government. The government removed reservation in the Group – I services recruitment with GO 29, which has done severe injustice to the unemployed youth,” said Janardhan Anumulapuri, a Group – I aspirant and leader of unemployed youth.
Social activist and former Congress leader Bakka Judson, who is supporting the unemployed, demanded Rahul and Priyanka Gandhi Vadra apologise to the unemployed youth for failing to deliver on the promises.
“Priyanka Gandhi assured to provide two lakh jobs and unemployed allowance of Rs.4,000 during assembly elections but so far not even a penny is disbursed. Since, both Rahul and Priyanka did not live up to their assurances, they must apologise to the unemployed at Ashok Nagar X roads,” he demanded.
