Hyderabad: In a unique distinction, Pramod K Nayar, senior professor of English at the University of Hyderabad (UoH) is the only Indian university researcher in the field of Literary Studies (Communication and Textual Studies) in the global top 2% of the most-cited researchers worldwide.
In addition to this distinction, Prof. Pramod has now moved into the global top 100 in Literary Studies.
John PA Ioannidis of Stanford University has recently published an update of the study of the global top 2% of most widely cited researchers in different disciplines.
This ranking, considered one the most prestigious worldwide, is based on standardized information on citations, h-index, co-authorship adjusted hm-index, citations to papers in different authorship positions, and a composite indicator (c-score).
The August 2024 data update includes more than 2,17,000 researchers categorized under 22 scientific fields and 174 subfields.
Prof. Pramod is holder of the UNESCO Chair in Vulnerability Studies at the UoH.
He was Smuts Visiting Fellow in Commonwealth Studies at the University of Cambridge in 2000-2001, the Charles Wallace India Trust-British Council Fellow at the University of Kent at Canterbury in the UK (2001) and a Fulbright Fellow at Cornell University in 2004-05.
