Velama Association celebrates Bathukamma, Dasara with pomp in Sydney
The Velama Association of Australia organised the 7th Bathukamma and Dasara celebrations in Sydney, Australia, which attracted participation from close to 300 Telugu speaking families.
Hyderabad: The Velama Association of Australia organised the 7th Bathukamma and Dasara celebrations in Sydney, Australia, which attracted participation from close to 300 Telugu speaking families.
Senior office bearers of the Velama Association thanked Telugu families for making Bathukamma and Dasara festivities a huge success in Sydney.
“Thanks to all Velama committee members who worked hard over the last couple of months in planning for the event. They have not only supported financially, but also spent considerable amount of their personal time,” the association members said.
The Velama Association of Australia has been celebrating Bathukamma and Dasara as a community since 2018 in Australia. “Year-on-year, it’s good to see the numbers growing. Our community is not only getting together to celebrate the festivals, but we also supported many underprivileged community members back in India. Since 2018, we are supporting needy students who were in dire need of support because of some unfortunate family circumstances,” the members of the Velama Association said.
