Hyderabad: Fifty two Telangana Social Welfare Residential Degree Colleges students and 26 faculty members visited the Tata Institute of Fundamental Research, Hyderabad (TIFR-H) on Monday as part of Kalpana—She for STEM Programme.
The TGSWREIS in partnership with VigyanShaala is implementing a one-of-a-kind STEM mentoring program titled Kalpana- SHE for STEM across 26 TGSWR degree colleges.
Top performers from the foundation phase of the program were selected for an educational field visit to TIFR where they interacted with professors and scholars besides visiting Mechanobiology, Computational Chemistry and Nanofabrication Laboratories.
Addressing students, TIFR Hyderabad Centre Director Prof. M. Krishnamurthy encouraged them to pursue higher degrees and apply for internships and summer fellowships at TIFR-H.
TGSWREIS secretary Dr. Alagu Varsini congratulated students and appreciated the mentor teachers for guiding students. She further mentioned that the Society runs a plethora of programmes for the benefit of the students.
